CALLIGRAPHY COURSE

6.30–8.30pm

A consecutive 8-week course to guide you through 'The Foundational Hand', the recognised basic calligraphy style for beginners, from where you can progress to tackle other more intricate styles and projects.
With a sound grasp of letter proportion and spacing you will be equipped to develop, apply and enjoy new found (or re-discovered) hand/eye co-ordination skills.
Taught by calligrapher Ali Crighton with many years experience in both practising and teaching this most satisfying of art forms.
There will be a short coffee break around 7.30pm each class to rest those weary wrists!
We will aim to complete an A4 display piece for you to take home at the conclusion of the course.

Requirements for materials:
x1 A4 or A3 layout pad
12” ruler
x2 sharp hard (Bs) pencils;
Your own broad-nibbed calligraphy pen (not a dip)
OR there will be 3 x nibbed sets for sale on the first night at approx. £15 a set (please indicate at time of booking if you are right handed (R) or left (L) as different angled nibs are required)
NB: The course can only run if a viable number of people sign up for it.
Should there be insufficient numbers, any already paid fees will be fully reimbursed.
